valentine's day getaway in goa

- Party

Valentine’s Day is almost here! This year, don’t leave V-Day to the last minute. Instead, seize the initiative and do something bold that will gloss over every relationship mistake that you ever made and put you on the right course for smooth sailing ahead.

As a guy, you may not like all the silliness that goes with Valentine’s Day but trust us, your partner is looking forward to it and eagerly waiting to post pictures of V-Day on her social media accounts and then discuss it in detail with her friends and relatives.

This year, meet and beat her expectations by booking a vacation at one of the popular Valentine’s Day Getaway in Goa. This will be the perfect gift for both of you and provide a much-needed time out from the busy schedules that have become the norm nowadays.

How to get there?

Goa is considered by many to be the party capital of India and therefore, it is quite easy to get there. You can drive to Goa from Mumbai easily as it is only about 600 Km that can be covered in 11-12 hours. The road and several good bus lines that run this route are quite good.

You can also take a flight to Goa’s two international airports – one in Dabolim and a new one in Mopa. The new airport in Mopa is very convenient if you are staying in North Goa, which is the quieter and prettier part of this incredibly vibrant state.

One can also take the train to Goa as there are several large and well-connected train stations there. The two major train stations are Margao and Vasco-da-Gamma but the Train Station in Thivim is the most convenient for North Goa.

What to do?

While there are a lot of things to do in Goa and places to see, a Valentine’s Day Trip should be spent in a secluded and beautiful place in the lap of luxury. For these reasons, North Goa is a better bet for couples than South Goa. There are some truly mesmerizing beaches here with white sands, crystal clear waters, and blue skies for that perfect romantic setting.

The beaches of North Goa, especially Calangute and Arambol are very pretty and provide plenty of action at night. If you are so inclined, you can visit some of the upscale seafood restaurants in North Goa or opt to party on the beach at one of the many shacks that dot the shoreline.

If you are feeling adventurous, there are many adventure sports companies that rent out boats and take couples for water skiing, parasailing, jet skiing, and a host of other activities. In North Goa, there are also some interesting monuments and remnants of the Portuguese occupation, such as forts and churches.

Some of the heritage monuments in Goa include The Basilica of Bob Jesus, Aguada Fort, Se Cathedral, Reis Magos Fort, Chapora Fort, etc. Other attractions include Taking Romantic Cruises, Casinos, Night Markets, etc. In short, whatever your taste or preference, Goa has you covered.

Where to stay?

Finding a good resort for Valentine’s Day can be hard. Therefore it is best to book in advance.  One of the best resorts in Goa is the Amritara Aura Resort & Spa. It is the perfect place for a Valentine’s Day Getaway because even though it is next to Mandrem Beach, it is nestled in a quiet and green spot complete with palm trees and songbirds while providing easy access to many of North Goa’s marvelous cultural and social hubs.

Amritara Aura also has fantastic food and beverages that can be ordered poolside and offers many experiences that augment the stay. They offer couple massages, private romantic dinners, yoga sessions, and special luxury villas with private pools for couples. A few nights here should impress and enthrall even the most demanding partner.

Hope this helps you plan Valentine’s Day that will not be forgotten anytime soon!
